Hi! My name is Emily, and I'm the Founder/Director at Pulse.

If you'd met me years ago there is NO WAY you would say I was the same person!
I spent most of my life see-sawing between constantly dieting, avoiding carbs, falling into the dark pit of Anorexic nervosa (twice!) to being an overweight, eating machine, having NO IDEA what exercise was - All the while smoking and drinking like prohibition was on it's way back in!
After the birth of my son I was the most overweight I had ever been. Here I had been blessed with this amazing little boy but I felt so desperately unhappy with myself and was certainly not being the best version of myself – for anyone; my family, my partner or my little boy!
I kept looking to others to make me feel better until (after a rather rude light-bulb moment) I realized that no-one could fix how I felt – except me!
I reached the pivot point where I was so sick and tired of feeling so crappy about myself. Enough was enough, I couldn't continue like this any longer! It was up to me to make a change. So I did!
I began taking little steps to improve my fitness and food choices. Just little changes, but soon I was pushing myself to new limits! One’s I NEVER would have believed I could achieve.
A fire had been lit inside me and I realised I had power over my own happiness, how I felt about myself and my body - and it was crazy awesome!
I train hard and eat well because it makes me feel awesome! - And who wouldn't want to feel like that ALL the time?!
Finally (and thankfully!) I found my love for fitness, good food and healthy living. I took my innate passion to help others feel awesome and became a Personal Trainer!

Don't get me wrong - I’m not perfect! - Perfection is NOT the point - I still love my glass of wine and definitely have my 'down times' where I enjoy good food a little too much!
BUT my fundamental understanding of what it means to me to be healthy allows my body, mind and soul to feel happy and strong.
Fitness goes beyond just what we look like on the outside - it's about our health on the inside and how we feel about ourselves. This is what is important.
This is my intention with pulse fitness - To create a supportive environment where you are FREE to be YOU. FREE from judgement. FREE from the intimidating gym environment. A place for women to find their INNER POWER, feel happy and confident!
It IS possible to escape the dangerous cycle of under-eating and over-eating! It IS possible to feel great about your beautiful body. I've done it and I'm here to show you how.
